Very professional and pleasant service. The gas springs fits perfectly in our system thanks to the correct calculations from Brimotech. Thank you for your advice!
All our steel gas springs are standard equipped with a black painted steel cylinder and a hard chrome plated piston rod. These gas springs can be used at temperatures from -30 °C to +80 °C. Higher and/or lower temperatures are possible on request. See below the range of our standard gas springs made of steel, often to be delivered from stock.
Type gas springs | Force (N) |
---|---|
156 | Max 400N |
198 | Max 700N |
2210 | Max 1300N |
2814 | Max 2500N |
For an optimal lifespan and proper installation of gas springs, the correct end fittings are of great importance.
In addition to our standard gas springs, we also produce every possible gas spring to fit your requirement. We do this within the limits of diameter Ø12 to Ø40 for both steel and stainless steel 316. These limits are shown in the table below.
Type | Ø Cil | Ø Rod | Stroke [mm] | Force [N] | Min L [mm] |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
124 | 12 mm | 4 mm | min 20 | max 120 | min 20 | max 150 | 2x stroke + 30 |
156 | 15 mm | 6 mm | min 20 | max 250 | min 20 | max 400 | 2x stroke + 30 |
198 | 18,5 mm | 8 mm | min 20 | max 350 | min 50 | max 700 | 2x stroke + 41 |
2208 | 22 mm | 8 mm | min 20 | max 350 | min 50 | max 700 | 2x stroke + 41 |
2210 | 22 mm | 10 mm | min 50 | max 500 | min 100 | max 1300 | 2x stroke + 41 |
2810 | 28 mm | 10 mm | min 50 | max 550 | min 100 | max 1300 | 2x stroke + 50 |
2814 | 28 mm | 14 mm | min 50 | max 650 | min 100 | max 2500 | 2x stroke + 50 |
4020 | 40 mm | 20 mm | min 100 | max 800 | min 100 | max 5200 | 2x stroke + 90 |
If your system needs a specific end fitting, we can engineer, produce and deliver it for you. Thanks to our intensive cooperation with Vapsint and our own engineering in Lelystad, we offer the right solution for every application. Please contact us for a tailor-made quotation.
The gas spring is a hydropneumatic adjustment element, consisting of a pressure tube and piston rod with specially designed piston. A special seal and guide system seals off the tube. The gas spring is filled with 100% compressed nitrogen. The filling pressure acts on the cross sectional area of the piston rod and produces an extension force, which can be ‘selected’ within physical limits.
A gas spring consists of a cylinder (C) and a piston rod (S) to which the piston (P) is attached. When the piston rod is pressed into the cylinder with the piston, the nitrogen moves from chamber (B) to chamber (A) by special channels. By adjusting these channels, we can adjust the behavior of the gas spring, such as speed and damping. The pressure in both chambers is the same, so the difference in surface area of the piston on side (A) and side (B) ensures that the piston rod is always pushed out of the cylinder. This reaction produces the force of the gas spring. Read more about the working of gas springs.
In order to choose the right gas spring for your application, a calculation must be made. The calculation itself is relatively simple, but because the centre of gravity of each system continuously changes with the angular rotation, the calculation of gas springs is still a complicated job. Take a look at our page with an explanation of the gas spring calculation or let us do the calculation for you. This is free of charge if you order the gas springs from us. Please contact us for the possibilities or fill in the gas spring form. Do you have the application as a 3D file? You can mail it to us together with your wishes and requirements. Indicate the centre of gravity and weight in relation to the hinge point as an appendix in a closed situation. When sending a Pack&Go it is important that all materials are correctly assigned in order to generate the correct centre of gravity.
